We interviewed Anna Chapman from Trevor Sorbie

What was your inspiration for the salon?
Working with Trevor Sorbie!

Who is your role model?
My role model is my partnerís grandma. She was a very strong woman but unfortunately experienced some tough times but never gave up. She was incredibly successful, she knew what she wanted and went and got it.

Best moment? (customer base/ award winning/ promotion/ messages/recommendation)?
Winning the BHA Newcomer of the Year award in 2007 has to be my best moment. It was the first photographic collection I had ever done so it was all such a surprise.

Funniest hairdressing moment?
Getting the giggles at inappropriate times, like while on stage! Of course I am able to control it...thank god!

Best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?
Trevor Sorbie always told me never to have more than three different things going on when thinking of a hair idea. More than three just makes it messy and over complicated. Simplicity is always stronger.

Whats the most important quality you look for in someone joining your team?
I look for someone that has a natural creative flair. Some people just have it and itís so exciting when all your team can bounce back and forth with creative thoughts. You all understand each other and the ideas will be so strong. This for me is a must.

What would you like to be known for?
I would love it if I could be known for producing beautiful, unique ,organic real hair. This is what Iím about, I like things to be real. I donít like to rely on post production, as it can make the hair look fake. Personally I think itís beautiful leaving the hair alone and working with itís natural texture.

What couldn't you live without?
Wow thatís hard...where do I start? For my kit it would have to be LíOreal Elnett hairspray, and my Mason Pearson brush and also my small Deman brush.
