Olivia asks:
Could you please give me some advice on choosing the right hair extensions. I have shoulder length hair and it is quite thin and flat, I would really like to be able to have it curly and make it look thicker all of the time and have only ever tried using clip in hair extensions. I am not sure if I should get longer lasting extensions put in and am worried that I wont be able to look after them properly and they will look a mess. How easy will it be for me to blow dry extensions that are attached and will it cost a lot to keep them up?

The most important advice here is go to a HABIA accredited salon with professional certified trained extensionists - you need a detailed consultation to decide a system that would be suitable for your hair and lifestyle. With fine flat hair you should go for flatter bonded extensions which will blend perfectly with your natural hair. Balmain Hair’s Système Volume comes in 2 strengths fine and normal , it won’t overburden your hair and will add as much volume as you desire. Electrical appliances can be used for easy blow drying or adding curl and texture. At your consultation make sure you ask everything you want to know including aftercare to ensure your new hair stays in tip- top condition.

laura asks:
i have dark brown hair and i use clip in extensions, but i wanted to add some dimension maybe by adding low and highlights to my hair but i dont know if its possible to do with extensions too, they say it would damage the extensions and the color woulnt be the same as my hair, what should i do ?

Firstly take out the clip in extensions and have a consultation with your hairdresser to discuss the best possible colours to enhance your natural hair, using highlights, lowlights or both ! Take your clip in extensions with you so that these can be included in your colour plan! You can also add more colour with clip in extensions before you finally commit to the chemical colour. Balmain Hair offer Colour Flash, Hair Make-up, DoubleHair , Easy Volume and ClipTape. See the webshop for the full range www.balmainhair.com/ukwebshop
