izzy asks:
I have fair skin, green eyes and my natural hair colour is dark blonde/light brown. I really suit high lift blonde but have given hair a rest from colour for nearly two yrs. I would like to colour my hair again with blonde through my fringe & framing around my face, but what colour will I suit over the rest of my hair?

For a nice contrast against the blonde go for a muted copper/ strawberry blonde, mixing a copper with an ash blonde will create this and can look really striking with green eyes. |

I got my hair bleached at a salon a couple months ago, but can’t afford to get my roots redone so I decided to do an at home job with Wella Lightening Power and Wella 20 Volume Creme Developer. I accidentally started on the front, so it changed a lot quicker than the back. I washed in out with purple shampoo and left in a repair conditioner for a couple minutes right after. Although I’m not overly concerned with the uneven colouring, would it be too much to bleach the back again in the same day? If not, how long would be a good wait before bleaching the back again? Furthermore, I accidentally made way too much bleach so is there a "shelf life" for mixed bleach or do I just dump it?

Your bleach will have fully oxidised one hour after mixing, making it unusable. Although I would strongly advise that you get your bleach done professionally, if you are going to attempt to do it at home, can I suggest asking a friend to apply it for you? There’s no harm in reapplying the bleach to the orange areas but if you overlap onto the whiter bleach areas you will risk breakage. As the orange is at the back a friend will be able to see better to get a careful application. |
