Carl asks:
10 days ago I noticed a significant amount of hair loss by my crown. I have recently also had a burning sensation and the last 2 days a itchy scalp. I have begun to use a hair loss shampoo and conditioner and started to use Regaine as it contains Minixol, which is meant to help the follicles. My GP thinks itís just normal hair loss, but I know itís not. I think itís deeper.

I suggest you go to a specialist Thricologist they will be able to determine what this problem is whether itís normal or not.

Harry asks:
Iíve always had relatively thin hair, which Iíve been trying to grow long for about 4 years now. It reached about shoulder length after about a year, and then stopped growing. I learnt to live with that, even though Iíd love to have much longer hair. It has however got thinner recently, and a few months ago my hair at the front corner of my head fell broke off, with the opposite side doing the same shortly after. It now looks a bit silly with some hair at the front, and then gaps on either side, then the rest of my hair. The gaps are always noticeable, even when tucking all my hair behind my ears. What could have caused this? Is there anything I can do to sort it out? The hair does appear to be growing back a little, but even thinner. Also, any advice for growing my hair longer? Itís been shoulder length for 3 years now.

Certain hair will grow and eventually reach a resting point in which it will grow no more. Hygiene, diet and medication can all affect the texture and condition of your hair and can lead to thinning or falling hair. Try for multi vitamins or look around for a shorter look

Amber asks:
I am 5í4 and overweight (bout 240lbs) I am a Mum of 2 beautiful little girls and I want a new style for my hair. My hair is wavy somewhat thick and to the middle of my back however I never wear it down it is always in a bun which my husband hates! I donít like it in my face. Back before my kids (and the weight) I had a cute Meg Ryan style short and layered all over it was wash and go and with my wavy hair was perfect. I really loved it! I would like something like that again but Iím afraid with a round full face and being overweight it would look bad or I would look MORE overweight than I am!! Please help...can you give me some ideas!

I understand in time we all change, not only our bodies but also our hair clothes and lifestyle. Yes it can be scary going short again especially if you feel you have put on weight however a good reputable hair stylist should be able to look at your face shape and cut a style to suit. Try going shorter gradually to soften the blow of going short you never know you may come across a style you like more within the process.
