Babs asks:
I have waist length, fine, straight thin, naturally blonde hair and have never had a "decent" hair style. Had my hair layered slightly 2 years ago but hubby thought it didnít look any different just shorter. So layers donít seem to make a difference it always looks flat and boring. I have a heart shaped face but slightly round at the moment, am 25 just became a mummy and in need of a re style!! Please could you suggest something? I am so stuck

In most cases the best styles to suit fine, straight thin hair are blunt cut styles.

For example the classic bob would work well with this type of hair, and if your feeling particularly brave a graduated bob like Victoria Beckham can look fantastic, but this obviously means having a lot cut off. ...More >

Layers will tend to make fine hair look thinner, so this option is best avoided. I would also suggest booking a free consultation with your hairdresser and take some photos of styles you really like with you to discuss with them.

Ramya asks:
I have dark, black, thick, wavy hair and it goes down to my midback. At the moment it is one length but I really want to get a stylish new hair cut which will be trendy and easy to maintain. I would prefer it longer at the back but slightly shorter than it is now but I really want to avoid straightening my hair and instead keep it wavy. I am also thinking to get something like a fringe or steps in the front would this work with my hair? I am due for a haircut but am still not sure what haircut I should ask for any suggestions?

I think if your hair is so long you are probably ready for a change but also a little hesitant at the same time. I think your hair would be great shorter with some layers through because this would release your natural curls and breathe life back into your style. ...More >

You could either go straight for it or if you are a little nervous you could do this in stages.

Go for it!!!

Pearl asks:
For a documentary film for HBO I am looking for vintage commercials of the Jheri curl and classy curl - from the 1980s. Any suggestions where to find these?

I think the only possibility you would have is to Google them both and if not try Hair 1980 and see what comes up! Aside from that you could have a look at product manufacturers' websites and see if they have any archives, especially Wella & L'Oreal.
