Laura asks:
My hair is straight I have a lot of hair and it is really resistant to everything I do. I want a very curly hairstyle maybe like afro hair but I don't want to perm it (are there any other solutions)!

The only way to get permanent curls is to have a perm. However you could get your hair set on rollers for a temporary look.

Tanith asks:
I am 27 and I have long thick brown hair, it has sections that are a bit naturally wavy but there are some bushy bits, it's due another trim. I try to put waves and curls in it, using mousse heat and curl protection spray. When I go to a salon they just drop out in an hour, I don't want to have layers into my hair as I love it long. Is there anything else I can try other than putting it in twists/pleats the night before damp, using these products? I rarely use heat or products but I spend the money on good shampoos and conditioners to keep my hair shiny and healthy Ė but am desperate for styles that will stay!

The only thing you could have to encourage any curls to stay longer is to have a soft perm but even then, if your hair is thick and with no layers, even that will struggle to keep in.

What you need to think about is whether you would have some layers through your hair to give you what you desire because without having layers there is limited possibilities!

Babs asks:
I have waist length, fine, straight thin, naturally blonde hair and have never had a "decent" hair style. Had my hair layered slightly 2 years ago but hubby thought it didnít look any different just shorter. So layers donít seem to make a difference it always looks flat and boring. I have a heart shaped face but slightly round at the moment, am 25 just became a mummy and in need of a re style!! Please could you suggest something? I am so stuck

In most cases the best styles to suit fine, straight thin hair are blunt cut styles.

For example the classic bob would work well with this type of hair, and if your feeling particularly brave a graduated bob like Victoria Beckham can look fantastic, but this obviously means having a lot cut off. ...More >

Layers will tend to make fine hair look thinner, so this option is best avoided. I would also suggest booking a free consultation with your hairdresser and take some photos of styles you really like with you to discuss with them.
