Anita asks:
Hello. Iím a natural brown and using ultraviolet hair color from LíOrťal with 20% oxigenta for getting blond. It works well but since Iím using it only on the roots the rest of my hair is brassy. How can i use the same color for the rest of my hair? Is there a shampoo or wet hair method i can use by the end of my coloring session?

Anita as a professional stylist I always try and recommend that you get a professional to get you to the colour you want then maintain it at home if you need to. But thatís not always possible I understand. The best thing to do is halfway through the root processing time add warm water to the left over formula in the bowl or applicator bottle, about half the amount of the amount of the formula. Spray the mid lengths and ends of your hair with a protein spray this helps even out the porosity ( so helps give you good even results and conditions the hair) then apply the colour as quicly as possible, comb it through with a wide tooth comb and process for the remaining suggested time. You can always use colour conditioner to even and balance out tone in between.

Good luck.

Its always important to take a hair supplement as well as have a good diet. Invest in the best possible balancing shampoo and conditioner from a professional salon. Always comb the conditioner through before rinsing as this will seal the cuticles and help your hair have shine.

Yoko asks:
Hello and help! :) My hair is naturally a dark color. Two weeks ago, with Gilt City coupon in hand, I had my hair professionally balayaged (sp?) to be able to have my hair end up pink. I spent a lot of money - $200 + - and ended up with peachy/orange/pinkish hair. Iím highly disappointed to say the least. I called the stylist that did the work on my hair and she in no way offered to fix the disaster she created. So...Iím stuck with trying to ífixí this myself. I want to go purple. Any suggestions on brand, best purple color to use? I donít have another penny to have my hair fixed by a professional. Iím a single mom on a budget and hadnít had my hair done in years and thought this was my magical hair moment. Any professional opinion will be appreciated. Thank you! xxx Yoko

I am so sorry to hear about your disappointment, Iím not familiar with the purple direct dyes that may available to you in USA but Iím sure you could find something like crazy colour in purple? My suggestion is find a salon that needs a model to practice on, perhaps register with a few then they will call you and do the service for free. Really good luck.
