Julie Green asks:
Please can you give me some advice. My hair used to be a lot thicker than it is now, I foolishly let a hairdresser loose with thinning scissors on my hair about a year ago and it has never recovered. It is all different lengths, I used to have a lovely one length bob but coming down longer at the front, now because of all the different lengths (and admittedly straightening irons) the hair at the sides does not grow and has snapped off half way down! I am desperate to get back the full thick looking bob I used to have, now no matter what thickening shampoo and products I use my hair remains flat and lifeless, please, please can you give me some suggestions of styles that I could try? I thought about having a drastic short bob and starting again but again, I donít know if this would work.

Julie

Start by having the haircut back into a bob, invest in some professional shampoo and conditioner for fine to normal hair rather than thickening ones. Make sure your eating a varied diet and perhaps start taking a supplement specific for hair. It takes a long time to grow out the effects of the thinning so best to have a clean slate. Also invest in a straightening iron with temperature control that way you will do far less damage to your hair with heat.

Magda asks:
Hi its Magda from UK. I have keratin straightened hair. A few days ago my hairdresser bleached my hair blond. The result is devastating. My hair is thin and ends are totally burned. It looks very frizzy in the end and feels like plastic. She gave me olaplex home hair treatment but its not helping much. Now she offered to cut the ends and use intensive olaplex treatment. I was wondering what else I can do to help my hair go back to "normal". Any products? Iím not supposed to use any with alcohol as it damages the keratin. It takes me twice much time to dry my hair as well. Thank you for any help

Magda I am so sorry this has happened to you, but apart from being patient, using professional shampoo, conditioner and treatments weekly and taking a specific hair supplement there is nothing you can do. You will notice a difference in a few weeks and then have a trim. I would ask the stylist in advance next time to do a strand test on the hair first to check your hair is strong enough.

Hi Paula Before you do anything drastic try using colour enhancing shampoo or conditioner as these are marvelous at add extra depth, tone and shine. Make sure you leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing, hopefully hubby will like and then when your next at the salon they can colour match. You should have a better result as you shouldnít need to be bleached. Just as an additional note a treatment masque on for 20 minutes with help make the hair more shiny and reflect light too. Good luck
