Jennie asks:
I have really fine hair that is also thinning. I want to have a style that will be easy to look after but also appear fuller. I have a square shaped face so itís hard to find styles that look ok. Please help.

Square shaped faces often have characteristics that include an angular jaw, so try styles with long, soft layers towards the top of the head to draw the eye away from the bottom of your face, creating an instant disguise. You can soften a square face with waves and curls, which will give the appearance of a bouncy and voluminous cut. Whether you opt for a long or short style, try not to go too short or too long Ė a couple of inches below or above the chin is ideal. Wispy layers will soften a square face and add height at the top of the head making your face look longer. To make hair appear fuller, try adding a few short layers to increase volume. Off-centre partings will give your hairstyle a bit of an edge and also look great backcombed for extra height.

DJ asks:
Hi, I wanted to curl my hair, so I got natural wave perming done.

The first day, it was wavy enough and i liked it, but the next day the waves became so loose and my hair became frizzy. I had done permanent straightening 2 years back and cysteine treatment 1 year back. Itís been a week since I got perming done and my hair looks really bad. Itís frizzy and neither curly nor straight. My natural hair is better than this!

Iím thinking of getting my hair chemically straightened again, but Iím afraid my hair will get damaged. How long should I wait before chemically straightening my hair after perming?

Hi DJ

Okay no more chemical treatments invest in some professional hair care, moisturizing shampoo, conditioner and treatment. Try and decided if you want wavy or straight and stick to a very strict hair care regime for a month to try and encourage the best out of your hair. Use a treatment masque x per week, follow the instructions to the rule, comb through before rinsing and then make sure you use either a smoothing balm or curl enhancing cream before blow drying. Take your time with a diffuser or a really good pure bristle paddle brush and you will find that your hair will respond well. ...More >

Once your hair is back into great condition you will be able to wear it curly sometimes and smooth sometimes. You have to have great conditioned hair and the correct styling tools then practice makes perfect.

Good luck

Hi Sharon

Well done for using the clarifying shampoo, make sure you use a treatment mask once a week for the next month that is able to internal reconstruct and repair the hair, I love the Redken, Joico and Nioxin. Use conditioner afterwards and make sure you comb through before rinsing out. Use a spray on leave in moisturising conditioner as well. If youíre really worried take a supplement temporarily and also check out the ego therapy cold treatment iron as I think it would really benefit you. Good luck
