Suzanne Peak asks:
I need some colouring advice. About 5 years ago I put sun-in onto my hair, I have since had it coloured many times by hairdressers however I never get the colour to last. I recently went to a hairdresser who did a strand test. My hair colour is dyed blond however when she did a strand test and put brown onto it, it turned a nasty khaki colour. How can I correct my hair colour so that in future my hair will keep the colour longer and not turn khaki? I really do not want to grow this out as it will take a long time.

For your hair to go green you have not got any gold base in your hair due to it being stripped out by the bleach/hi lift colour you put on beforehand. My advice would be to give your hair a break from colour and think about hair extensions for colour placement, these last for approx 3 months and you can change the colour at any time plus they do not fade. This will allow you to grow out your colour and regain your hair to a better condition.

I am going to have my hair cut and I am thinking really short hair. What do you think.

You will need to discuss this will your stylist. Find a picture of what you would like, either from a magazine online and take this with you. Your stylist will then be able to give you advice on what would suit you best.

Ally asks:
I have just dyed my hair blonde (with a permanent dye) and it looks awful! Is it safe to dye over it back to brown without it going green or something?!

Do not try to dye it back. Get back to us and let me know what you do not like about it (is it too brassy?) Or do you just not like blonde. Try to give me some more details so that I can tell you exactly what you should do.
