I have bleached my hair for a long time and then in October 2003 I put a brown colour on my hair. I have not done anything with it since. I now want a perm a hairdresser has said a Redkin perm will be ok as it ph balanced.. Is this right?

I personally would not recommend perming over bleached hair, but there are products on the market that are for bleached hair so it is your decision, just find a reputable salon before going ahead.

Phil Wilcox asks:
I am trying to achieve a similar hairstyle much like Tom Cruise has in the Last Samurai, I have roughly the same thickness of hair and i know I must grow out my hair, but is there anything else that i need to consider.

As your hair grows consider adding some low lights to add definition and interest to the look.

Edawber asks:
I am thinking of using a shampoo that is designed for curly hair, but as my hair is coloured I wondered if my priority should be to use shampoos for coloured hair and after washing use products for my curls.

Modern shampoos will not strip the colour, as they are quite gentle, so I would advise a curl enhancing shmapoo. Try J Life Catch a Wave Shampoo and Conditioner - 6.99 and 7.99 - for stockists call 0870 240 6137
