Jennie asks:
I had the underneath of my hair coloured brown for two years, the top is blonde, went to hairdresser and asked to change the brown back to blonde, now it is a orange ginger, that I donít like can I put something on it myself to make it blonde like the top, without going to the hairdresser as I have all ready spent £160 on my hair, I have very thick long to the shoulder hair?

First please do not try this yourself! Go back to the salon that performed the colour service for you and explain the problem and your concerns. A good salon should correct this for you or compensate you for your trouble. If you do not get any joy from your hairdresser then please look for another and see if they would be willing to correct your colour on a training night.

Doing this yourself is very, very risky and I would not recommend it.

Carla asks:
I have blonde highlighted hair (a few different colours as I have always dyed my hair although it is more golden-y than anything I would say). I want to go back to my natural colour, which is mid-blonde. I cannot afford to go to the hairdressers to get this done - what colour would you recommend as I donít want it to go too dark or turn out green or orange!

Please please do not do it your self.

You have already explained what may happen in your question. ...More >

Try visiting your local salons and ask if they have a training evening where you could possibly attend and have an observed trainee stylist perform your colour correction.

This would be my advice.

Gemma asks:
A mobile stylist highlighted my hair but I donít like the rusty colour she has produced with bleach can I just dye over the whole lot

Please do not do it.

This is much more difficult than you may think. If you are confident enough then ask the hairdresser who coloured your hair for advice and inform him/her of your concerns. If you have lost confidence in your stylist then try and find a new one that you can trust in.
