Jill asks:
I have a thyroid problem (under active), and was losing some hair, and it was going very dry and coarse, no matter what I used on it, it was also affecting the growth. I had attempted to grow my hair, and not had an appointment for 3 months, when I went to get my hair cut the hairdressers in question, cut out all the dead hair, and cut it in at the back and took the bottom layers up to ear level. I donít know what she has done to the crown area however; my hair is now left in a kind of cone/egg head shape. Is it wise to just let this grow or go back and ask for more to be taken off layered/textured? I do have naturally thick hair but is somewhat thinner than it used to be due to thyroid problems.

It is such a shame when hairdressers donít listen to their clients as some can tend to just do what they want to do instead of taking into consideration what is going to suit the individual in their chair. Hair is so emotive and can make your day if done well but if done badly it can ruin it! I think you should have a go at growing your hair again, Leave it for a few months and get yourself booked into a good salon. You mentioned that your hair is dry and course so it is important to keep it moisturised as much as possible. The Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment stops scalp irritation and moisturises to encourage growth whilst minimizing breakage.

Stephanie asks:
My Daughter is 3yrs old and of mixed race which means her hair is partly coarse but fine and is only growing on the crown and around the base, someone suggested it needed twisting to encourage it to grow? Please can you suggest anything as she is starting school next September and she is almost bald?

Twisting will not make a difference, the best thing it to let nature take its course. It will grow and doing anything to it will only cause adverse long term affects. It is not unusual for curly hair to be late sprouting I too was bald until 21/2 years. Donít worry.

Pamela asks:
I bought a home dye kit. I used the dye and the conditioner that came with it. Since then by hair is terrible it looks thick with grease and feels very sticky. I have tried to wash it a number of times but nothing seems to work. Before this I had very healthy shiny hair

I would contact the company whoís colour you purchased and mention this to them directly. Explain your problem and see what they recommend?
