Debbie asks:
I have really thick hair and its at the stage where it is getting a bit of a weight. I have had short hair in the past but it was not a nice hair style, what sort of short hair styles that can I go for without the thickness of my hair?

You can have a variety of styles it all depends of your face shape. My suggestion would be something with few layers , but not to short, also ask your stylist to remove some of the weight out by thinning the hair from approximately 3' inches away from the root in the lower layers. Also pay attention when your hairdresser styles your hair and ask as many questions as you possibly need to create the style at home.

Marie asks:
I have been having my brown hair highlighted with fine blonde streaks for about a year, but on the last salon visit they put in thick highlights and had to recolour with brown to thin them out. Now my hair is very dry and feels rough when wet. I have an appointment for a cut but do not know whether to let them recolour. It was done in late October and I have been putting it off since.

Well the best advice that I could give you is when you go back to the salon perhaps get them to do a strand test this would tell you if its condition is suitable. Also you should be treating your hair with a good conditioner or treatment. I can suggest a good one which is J.F. Lazartigue moisturizing mask. However if the colour is right now perhaps your hairdresser should only touch up the roots

Barbara asks:
I have dyed my hair blonde for many years now using a branded home colour. One day I decided to go too a top hairdressers and have my roots/regrowth done there. After paying over 100 pounds my hair looked like it had been bleached at the top but darker everywhere else. As my hair has grown this thick band of lighter colour keeps moving down my hair. How can I keep my hair blonde but ensure that it is all one colour? I am scared of applying my home colour to this band incase it goes even lighter.

Oh dear, I am afraid that you will really need to return to the hairdressers to sort this problem as it will mean that your hair will be lighter in areas if you just apply a colour all over. It is not something I would advise you try to do at home. It is frustrating but in the long run the best way. The salon will have to apply a full head of colour but blend into the un-even areas. You should visit a salon for a consultation and ask them how they would achieve an all over colour.
