Rose asks:
I have never dyed my hair before and looking into having a temporary hair dye in to see if I like my hair coloured or not. At the moment my hair is a dark strawberry blonde/light Auburn coloured and my eyebrows are very blonde. My hair is naturally slightly wavy and never keeps curls when styling and worried that the colour will take to certain parts of the hair and not others as its quite unruly. Is there any advice you could give?

Hi Rose

Your hair sounds beautiful, if you want to add temporary colour you are very limited and can only go darker or add tone. ...More >

Donít worry that the colour will take unevenly as generally the consistency of the formula is easy to work through the hair and you can always use a protein leave in conditioner to ensure a more uniform result. But I think you should think about having some lighter pieces through your hair that give your hair a more multi tonal effect and blend with your brows? You could have a very soft balayage effect that would look really naturally and its fairly commitment free as far as having to have it done regular. If you didnít like it (Iím sure you would) you could use the temporary option to blend it away. As far as not holding a curl sometimes hair needs more moisture in it in order to create and hold shape so use a moisture mask weekly and make sure when your curling to not use the chosen tool too hot and let the curls cool down before fiddling and styling. Heat creates shape and cool fixes it so longer lasting style if you leave hot hair time to cool.

Good luck,

Eliza asks:
Hey! Iím 16 years old and I have a lot of grey hair (possibly genetics) and I dyed my hair a year ago with Henna. It didnít really show but now I want to dye my hair into something new. My natural hair colour is dark brown(almost black); typical Asian hair colour. I want to dye it to a lighter brown and add some caramel/honey highlights to it. I can do the whole process myself through the help of YouTube videos however, I donít know what hair dye to use (for the brown and highlights).

Could you please tell me what brand and type colour would be the best and what do I need to use with it. Also, can you ensure that the colour and other things are purchasable in UK.

Hi Eliza

Its difficult to advise you on exactly what colour to use as I donít know how much grey hair you have. So I am going to make a suggestion for you and keep fingers crossed, try using the New Líoreal Colleur expert express 2 in 1 kit, select 6.1 which is a light brown or dark blonde. If you hair is long you will need 2 kits. Follow the instructions very carefully and you should be fine. ...More >

I am 48, and I had my hair chemically straightened two years ago, which has now damaged my hair. Please can you recommend some haircare products that will help the condition of my hair?

Hi Anita, we recommend that you make an appointment with a hair salon for the LíOrťal Smartbond treatment, which strengthens the keratin bonds within the hair. It gives super results and your stylist can give you a Smartbond conditioner to use at home.
