Bethia Goodsir asks:
Recently I found a lot of videos and articles supporting onion juice as a helpful treatment for promoting hair growth so and decided to try it as Iím trying to grow my hair out. The problem is I couldnít stand the smell so gave up after the first use but I canít get the smell out of my hair. Iíve tried bicarbonate of soda and lemon juice as well as washed it 6 times since and it still smells rancid. Could you suggest anything that might neutralise the scent.

Hello Bethia, All I can suggest as you have already tried lemon juice is adding some lemon juice to a solution of green tea. Make the tea as you normally would but in a larger qty. squeeze in half a lemon and let the water cool. Shampoo and condition your hair as normal but using the green tea and lemon solution instead of water, this way you are allowing it to be absorbed into the scalp more. Leave the shampoo a few minutes before rinsing and then do a final rinse with the solution. And it should be okay after that.

John Brush asks:
I have blonde hair that I would like to make to a little darker blonde or light brown. I am looking for a shampoo/conditioner that would do this. I donít want to use any dyes.

Hi John, I think the John Frieda Brunette conditioner on the high street, it will only add a very small amount of tone and should give you the results you are after. I suggest leaving the conditioner on for 5 mins rinse and repeat if you wish.

Hello Zenab

It really is helpful to use moisture shampoo and conditioner as well as a smoothing balm before you Blow-dry you hair as this helps the hair retain moisture. Itís essential in order to help prevent the hair going frizzy or curly so quickly after straightening to Blow-dry the hair best you can in advance. This is because your hair has memory and remembers the shape created between it being wet to dry. So once straightened if the hair gets damp or your in a humid area it will be less affected. ...More >
