Kirstie asks:
Can I have your advice, my 12 year old daughter has bum-length strawberry blonde/ginger hair (light red with what looks like blonde highlights), but because of bullying in school, she has asked if she can dye it all blonde. As a parent I am loathed to let her as I think she will regret it as she gets older and embraces the colour. Do you know of any good/reliable semi permanent or wash in/wash out colour I can use. Myself and many others compliment her on the colour, however, because of a few very nasty kids she is adamant that she needs to do something with it. Your advice is appreciated.

Arenít kids cruel, your poor Daughter!!!!
I suggest using blonde shampoo and conditioner leaving both on for 5 minutes before rinsing. This is the most effective way to lighten without damage and have an even effect. Good luck and Iím sure she will love her hair in a few years time.

Marija asks:
Hello, my name is Maria and I was wondering if itís possible to grow hair more than half an inch a month, because I want to grow my hair very quickly? Some time ago I cut my hair and I do not like the way my hair looks; I want to ask a hair expert to answer this question for me. Thank you

Hi Marija, Iím afraid no matter what maybe claimed I donít think itís possible. If you eat a well balanced varied diet and take a supplement and have a great hair care regime the hairs strength and quality will be at its best. That means it will look healthy and be less prone to damage and so in the long run you will be able to grow it longer. Good luck and if you do find something that works do let me know (ha ha).

Ronja asks:
My hair is completely ruined and I donít know what to do. I havenít dyed my hair in six months and I almost never style it in any way, I just shampoo it and use a little bit of conditioner (and coconut oil every now and then). In December I noticed that it had started breaking a lot and now I have these short strands of hair on the front and some on the back. It looks awful. Itís also really thin and I have lost a lot of length from the ends. I donít know whatís causing it but it just keeps getting worse no matter what I do and itís ruining my whole self-confidence. Any tips on how I could save my hair or do I just have to cut it really short?

Hello, there can be so many reasons the hair seems to get out of condition. Poor health, hormone changes, medication and diet are most common if the damage hasnít been caused by chemicals. I suggest a haircut, taking a supplement and looking at your diet seeing if you can improve it in any way to help your hair. Hair is the very last place to receive nutrition from your body so absolutely critical to have a good varied diet as well as hair care regime. Good luck
