Hey Sir. Iím recently noticing that the left part of hair is getting wavy from just 2 inches from the roots. This is making my hair look half poofy and the hair on my hair line is growing wavy. What is the possible reason and how can I make my hair fine as it was before? Ps : I was suffering from major hair fall till last month when I was taking medication but after completing my medication this problem is resolving.

Hello, Iím afraid I canít give a detailed explanation for you, I think itís most likely caused by medicine. I would try and book to see a trichologist. Good luck

I have natural Afro-Caribbean hair and until two months ago I had worn my hair in weaves, continually, for the last twenty years! I am now on a journey to grow back my edges and am interested in trying the KeraStraight treatment Ė its Formaldehyde-free formula seems less extreme than other professional relaxants Ė however, I am confused by all the keratin treatments available. Are there any other salon treatments that donít contain Formaldehyde? Can KeraStraight be used on Afro-Caribbean hair? Which are the best salons in Manchester, where I live, to try out this treatment?

KeraStraight is the brand name behind the straightening repair treatment known as the KeraStraight Ultimate Treatment. Youíre correct that the treatment is Formaldehyde-free, making it an appealing choice considering the known link between Formaldehyde and allergic reactions, skin complaints and irritations, and the reported connection between long-term use of Formaldehyde and certain types of cancer. While there are other effective Formaldehyde-free smoothing treatments on the market, at Westrow we offer the KeraStraight Ultimate treatment because weíve found it to be the most effective ĎBrazilian blow-dryí treatment available, which can have a truly transformative effect on unmanageable locks. Designed for coarse, dry and damaged hair, it uses advanced proteins to strengthen and repair damaged hairs, eliminating frizz and making hair straighter in the process. The repairing agents within the formula rebuild the structure of the hair, leaving it with a smooth, soft, straight finish and a lovely shine that can last for up to four months.
KeraStraightís Ultimate treatment can certainly be used on Afro-Caribbean hair Ė in fact, weíve seen some incredible results when using it on Afro hair in our salons Ė however, as there are so many types of Afro hair, the final results will always depend on the individual. If your hair has a very strong natural curl energy it may end up repaired, softer and easier to manage, but with looser curls, rather than fully straightened. Hair with less natural strength is more likely to end up straighter Ė and even completely straight Ė after a single treatment. KeraStraight aftercare products can help to enhance and extend the results. As with all professional treatments, make sure you go through a thorough consultation process before going ahead with the procedure, to make sure itís suitable and appropriate to your hair type, and will meet your expectations. As KeraStraight is a registered manufacturer, their website will give details of approved salons in your area offering the treatment and aftercare products.

Iíve quite thick hair that gets greasy fast and Iíve tried everything but I canít find a shampoo that doesnít weigh my hair down and doesnít make my hair flat. Just wondering if you can recommend any shampoo and conditioners that are light and donít leave a lot of product but still wash thoroughly

Hi Sophie, I love the Joico, Iíd hair and Redken ranges. If you donít have colour on your hair try using one for normal hair or called balancing. You can always try a spray leave in conditioner as that will add moisture and condition your hair without weighing your hair down. Thank you
