Shannon asks:
I have long, wavy and thick red hair, that also tends to have a coarser texture than most people I know! It is almost impossible to find a haircut that looks good (I do not want to go short, I just want something thats more stylish THAT WILL ACTUALLY WORK!

If your hair is coarse make sure you use a deep conditioning treatment every week to ensure your hair is as soft and smooth as possible. If your hair is thick and wavy I would advise you keep it longer anyway as it will be much more manageable and suited to your hair type. If your hair is all one length I would advise having some soft layers put in, this will create depth and although the length is still there it will be far more stylish and interesting. Also experiment with different products as with curly hair there are so many things you can do with the right product! Try using a salt spray such as JLife Surf Girl Spritz over the summer months. This will give your hair a beach babe no hassle look and create a new hairstyle all together! I would go for a consultation at a reputable salon and they should be able to advise you on what you should and should not do, however my advice would be keep it simple with a few layers and experiment with products!

Sara asks:
I have medium to long hair and it is very curl when I blow dry it straight it gets all puffy I even use an iron but still it does not work.

Try using a straightening shampoo and conditioner such as J Life Dead Calm this tames and calms frizzy/curly uncontrollable hair. Before blow-drying use a smoothing mousse to control hair such as JLife In Control Mousse, this is rich in moisture so smoothes and conditions hair to make it more manageable. Then blow dry hair in sections starting with the underneath. Use a large paddle brush to ensure a smooth and straight finish. To finish use a serum through the ends of the hair for a sleek, everyday glamorous look, and to make things really easy

Paul Reeves asks:
I am having a hair crisis I have been growing my hair but have no idea what style to have done. I really need some improvement if I am ever to get another girlfriend as at the moment I look like Wolf out of Gladiators than Johnny Depp. I have a round/oval face and my hair is thick but quite fine and fairly curly (it keeps going into girly ringlets or a big fuzz with no products. I enjoy snowboarding and kite surfing etc but like to dress pretty fashionably (I think!) but really need advice on a trendy contemporary style. Preferably keeping it a bit long but I am open to all ideas straightening, colours etc. I would appreciate any advice and a recommendation for a good stylist. The last lady I went to just looked at my hair and said its curly so I cannot do a lot apart from trim the ends.

Well Wolf out the Gladiators is a definite NO, NO as far as hair goes so you were right to ask for advice! You sound like you are a outdoor kind of guy so the long hair thing is a yes as long as its not too long and definitely not too groomed! To be honest if you hair is very curly longer is better as the more weight in the hair the looser the curls will be. I would advise using conditioner when washing your hair as this will help hair to be softer curls rather than frizzy. When styling your hair use a clay product such as Jlife Rocker as this will enable you to manipulate the hair and dread it slightly to give you a surfy look. Salt sprays are really good too for giving hair a messy look and to make things really easy
