Sarah - Louise asks:
My hair is very long, down to the bottom of my back. It is very thick and 18 months ago, I dyed it black and red. I have about 4 inches of roots showing. My natural hair colour is medium brown. I want to dye my hair a dark blonde/gold colour and was wondering if this is possible with my hair coloured already. After 18 months my hair is now a maroon colour with patches of faded black but my natural hair colour on the whole of the underneath. I have been told by one hairdresser that I can dye my hair dark blonde, but it needs to be stripped a few times first. A different hairdresser on the other hand, told me I cannot dye it any other colour but black. Could you please give me the correct information on whether or not I can dye my hair the colour I want.

It is a rather difficult job, so you will found some hairdressers not wanting to do it. I would be able to do the job probably in the same manner as hairdresser number 1, doing some module or even perhaps a shampoo bleach but you have to think about the condition of your hair after the process, I would however very strongly advised you to have a strand test prior to having it done.

Millie asks:
I have been searching for a style, like side fringe, straight, thin, layered on top. Have you got any ideas, because I do not know if this will suit a square face shape?

Something that looks good on your friends does not mind that might no look good on you, take some advice from your stylist. It could be interesting but depends on your face shape, location of your parting, hair thickness and hair patterning. Book a consultation in a good local salon, normally they are free of charge and talk with a good stylist

Katie asks:
I am naturally brunette, however over the past 2 years I have gradually had my hair lightened. I am now growing tired of it and have booked an appointment to have my colour done! I am thinking of having an all over brunette colour and then having a slightly darker shade underneath. I was wondering what kind of brunette colours are fashionable at the moment, keeping in mind that I cannot go really dark as I have quite pale skin?

Brunettes are very fashionable tones at the moment, try perhaps warm tones if your face is pale. Work with chocolate tones and try to achieve natural warm tones. I love slightly ash tones but maybe they are going to be to strong for your natural tone. Also you can play with some highlights in 2 or 3 tones lighter
