Pam Swanson asks:
I have thick, wavy hair and I prefer to straighten it. I live in a hot, dry place and my hair stays straight. Problem is, I travel to many humid places, and my hair does not stay straight and it goes puffy. Any suggestions?

Frizzy hair is caused by moisture loss, so it is important that you keep your hair moisturised in a humid atmosphere. Lanza has a product line for your hair called Straight Line. This consists of a shampoo, conditioner and smoothing cream to be applied before drying to stop the humidity getting through and curling the hair back up. Always use a heat protector when using styling irons as not only will it protect your hair but lock in the moisture so that it does not become frizzy.

How do you tame thick roots and keep hair straight?

To tame hair use a mousse such as J Life In Control Mousse 7.00 and blow dry the hair with a Mason Pearson brush. Alternatively you could get a cut that encourages the natural movement of your hair - try to go with it not against it.

Urs asks:
I have a round face and very, very thick, curly, and coarse hair. I like to wear my hair straight. Can you please tell me what the best hairstyle for my situation would be?

Well maybe to keep a bit of length so that you can either set your hair on rollers and then flat iron it, or plait it in large sections and leave to dry to get a more defined curl.
