Kate asks:
I have got long thick hair, which is quite wavy when wet. I want to create curls myself but I am unsure which type of curling tools are best. Since my hair is thick it can droop with the weight, therefore I need reliable tools to create and hold the curls. What tools would you recommend for me to use myself heated rollers or flexi rollers and will one set be enough?

The easiest tools are either velcro rollers, or hot rollers, however if your hair is thick there might not be enough hot rollers on a kit. Set your hair from dry, spray a little hairspray on each roller and allow to dry. The more curl you want to smaller the roller.

Cas asks:
I have really thick hair and I am sick of wearing it long. I want a short look but I hear it will not work with thick hair. Its dry wavy and brown I have an oval face shape. How can I pull this off?

Your hairdresser should follow your head shape and create layers. They can take out the bulk by twisting hair and slashing into the roots which gives a modern texture. Ask them to go as short as the texture of the hair permits. Style using a glosser which works well on this type of hair.

Lilly asks:
I have extremely thick, curly ginger hair that is always big and puffy. Is there anything I can do that will make it thinner and smaller, or any particular style that would thin it? I have quite a round face, would this affect my hairstyle?

I would suggest that you keep your hair longer, and ask your hairdresser to remove some of the weight and thickness with layering. Layers should frame and soften your face to remove any bulkiness from your style, but do not go too short as this will highlight a rounder face. Ginger hair is naturally quite coarse and thick, so I would recommend that you also ask your stylist for salon treatments to keep it sleeker and more manageable.
