The quickest and easiest way of straightening your hair is with straightening irons and it is always advisable to use heat protection sprays before hand to protect from the heat. I would also suggest using an intensive conditioning treatment to help reduce the frizz in your hair. Something like Wella System Professional Power Mask is ideal for this. There are also chemical straightening processes on the market but would be wary of the condition they can leave your hair in.

Jennifer asks:
I have really thick straight red hair that falls down my back. I donít know how to style it because every time I try to curl it the curls fall out in half an hour due to the weight. Whatís the best way to style heavy straight hair?

If you want to have more volume in your hair, why donít you add some layers around the front and long layers throughout, and maybe try shortening the length a little. This would give your hair a better look even when you wear it straight but will hold a curl ten times better when you opt for a wavy look.

Jasmine asks:
I have thick hair and I can only wear it in a ponytail because it won't stay straight when I flat iron it. I am 12 years old and I am black. My hair is on my shoulder (about 1 inch on my shoulder) what should I do?

If I were you I would consider having your hair chemically relaxed at a professional salon that specialises in afro hair. This will help you straighten your hair.

Please ask for permission from your parents and make sure you take advice from the hairdresser.
