Livvy asks:
Iím 16 and my Dad is getting me hair extensions because I have very fine, flat hair at the top of my head, but at the sides it is quite thick and we wondered if this would balance it out? Also do you have any tips on how to create volume on top after my extensions, as I have quite a small forehead so the thickness at the sides makes my face look very triangular and round.

Hi Livvy - If the stylist applies the extensions correctly, they should blend in. To create volume on the top, use a side parting, Use a volumizing product with a large boar bristle brush, and lift the brush straight up when drying your hair. You might attempt to back comb or tease the hair to create volume.

Jo asks:
I recently had my hair layered and it looks way too thin now. It wasn't thick before but it was decent. Will it thicken back up again and how can I help it along?

Sorry to hear about your hair it can seem thicker if you brought the length up and cut some of those layers out only it means going shorter with your hair. There are also vitamins that help promote hair growth, these can be found at Holland and Barratt and are for hair, skin and nails. The vitamin sea kelp is also very good. A good stylist can use layers to either thin out the hair, texturise the hair or make hair appear thicker, look around for a good salon it may mean a little more expense however itís worth while because when you look good you feel great.

Lorna asks:
I have had the same hair style for 4 years, just at the middle of my shoulder blades, layered and a mid brown with blonde highlights, I have an oval face, I want a mid length cut and maybe an auburn colour, would my hair appear thicker as it looks slightly limp and flat would a cut help?

A hair cut can make almost any hair look and feel thicker or thinner depending on the style. Also colour can make your hair appear fuller and thicker too, sometimes as hair grows longer it can feel shapeless, dull, heavy and limp so by bringing your length up and playing with a few layers it can soon lift your appearance and give you a fuller bodied yet younger look.

Go for it!
