Pam asks:
I have been getting a full head of blonde highlights now for about 4 years. I am 15 and my hair is quite thick. I have always thought about dyeing my hair like a dark brown colour but I am scared to get it done in case it does not suit me! Are there any temporary dyes you could recommend that I could put in my hair that wash out after a few washes and would not stick to my current highlights? Also I have quite a round face and I normally wear my hair straight with a side fringe. But now that curled or wavy hair is coming in, I would like a change, something young and fashionable. I watched a programme recently where they used these cone shaped perming rods and I really liked the effect. Do you think this would suit my face shape? Is it very severe on your hair?

Wow, so you have been colouring your hair since you were 11 years old! Firstly, before you go ahead and colour your hair yourself with such a drastic change I would suggest you visit your local salon and get a consultation on what tones will suit your skin tones. If you go too dark it could drain your skin and leave you looking very pale, it may be that you need some warmer chestnut tones to bring some life into your cheeks. I really would not attempt using a home colour for this as it could end up patchy and not wash out as much as you think. In regards to changing your straight hair, why not give it a go yourself using either tongs or your ceramic styling irons? The heat from ceramic irons means that curls last much long than tongs. This way you can create sleek or waves depending on your mood rather than going to the expense of a permanent treatment.

Marilyn asks:
I am looking for a new hair style and cant seem to find one that I think would look good so I need your help. I have a oval face, my hair is med to long. I want to keep the lenght but need a style. My hair is heavy but not really thick and if I go with a straight hair cut then it looks flat. Would my hair look better with it layered towards my face? My hair grows or lays towards my face. My hair is permed right now but what I am looking for is to keep the length but shorter around my face. please help!

Getting some layers around the face would be a great idea. Having an oval face is every hairdressers dream. It is the perfect face shape, and you could wear any style. It is a good idea to look at some style ideas have a look on the style gallery on the site, then print them off and then take them to your stylist for some advice.

Ashley asks:
I have had bangs since I was little and no matter how many times I try to change them, I always go back to the way they were. I want to try something new with them, but I am not sure what would look good on me, I have a pretty round face. Any suggestions?

Why not experiment with hair extensions? They are a great way to try a new look without any commitment. You can apply micro bonded extensions in the fringe area to create a grown out effect or even thicken out your current fringe for a new style. Its a much quicker way to change your look and you can use different colours to get different effects too.
