Kristen asks:
I have naturally light brown hair, but have been getting blonde highlights put in every 3 months for over 10 years. My hair is now mostly blonde on top (my natural colour underneath), but I would like to dye it with a semi-permanent dark brown colour. Can I do this with the two different colours in my hair? Will the blonde sections turn red?

Your hairdresser should know the right combination, however I use and recommend Redken colours and products in my salon. I can advise you about some redken colours, perhaps would be easier if you go for a medium brown as the dark brown could be a very severe almost black, try Redken semicolour, Shades EQ 04NB+ 03N wont give you A black or red colour.

Linay asks:
How can I remove the copper ting in my hair?

Hi Linay:

It really depends of the amount of saturation that you have, we do use lots of different systems that can be of use:
1.- By shampoo bleaching
2.- Modulat, this is a product that could remove saturation from the hair
3.- Correcting tint using blue and green ashes
4.- Using a darker ash tone
I would suggest that you have any of these processes done by a professional hairdresser. I use in my salon Redken colours, they have a great range of pigments

Kaylene asks:
I dye my hair blonde nearly every month and I find that my hair does not grow like it used to before I started dying it. I get upset that my hair does not grow, I do use GHDs nearly every day. What can I do to make my hair grow faster? My hair at the moment is shoulder length with little layers.

Sometimes when hair becomes damaged or broken - in your case from dying or heat damage - it can refuse to grow to its maximum potential. This can be a real pain, but worry not, it is treatable! The best way to extend your hair growth is to repair the damage with a conditioning treatment, which will keep your hair healthy and moisturised and encourage it to grow faster and stronger. I have the perfect product for this called RUTP Hair That Never Grows Past a Certain Length Treatment, which forms a protective film on the hair to prevent and repair damage. By massaging it into your hair and leaving it for 5 minutes after shampooing you can be sure to have glowing, flowing locks to be proud of!
