My hair is falling out like crazy! I straighten my hair 5 days a week, and for about a year and a half it has been fine. About a month ago, it started coming out when I brushed it, straightened it, showered, and it will not stop! What can I do, besides not straightening it? Is there even a solution?

Straightening your hair without the correct products is not going to help your hair condition but it certainly would not cause your hair to fall out! Are you under any stress at the moment?
Generally speaking, your hair will only fall out excessively if you have had a shock or under any stress. Did you know that on average we lose about one hundred hairs a day? Maybe you have always lost some hair but are noticing it more now.

I have spent hours money and time looking for advice or products for shoulder length greasy fine hair that was bleached blonde that has now been coloured mid brown to try and get some life back into it, I have had it layered and I must now have 2 inches of my own healthy hair (some grey) and rest coloured, I have to wash it everyday because the roots are so greasy but the ends are so dry and frizzy and when you rub the ends between your index finger and thumb you can hear the dryness on the ends. I have tried leaving it a day without washing it but by lunch time it separates and starts getting itchy and looks awful, I have tried putting a bit of talcum powder at the roots to last a bit longer but it makes it looks worse and very dull. I have tried serum but it makes it look very flat and limp. I am starting to think may be I should wash it use a conditioner to get the knots out and blow dry it at the roots to dry it out but I know I will end up cutting the ends more often but I like having longish hair I do not suit short hair at all - what do I do I hate my hair, please help?

I would like to recommend that you wash your hair everyday firstly, I believe the oil that you have, which are a body secretion, are not good for you as they will increase your bacterial floral also the over production of yeast on your scalp producing dandruff and also irritation and in some cases also infection of the follicle. I would advise you to use a shampoo for oily hair

I am mixed race (black & white) and have fine hair which is naturally wavy but I straighten for ease of maintenance every 1-5 months. My hair has always had good growth patterns until about 2-5 years ago, when it suddenly seemed to stop growing. I have split ends and always have but now I am afraid to cut them off for fear that my hair will never grow back and I will be stuck with even shorter hair. It is already short (shoulder length) as it is. The odd thing as well is that it seems to grow slightly at the front, but never at the back. I was worried the contraceptive pill may have had some effect as it seemed to coincide with me starting to use it. Any ideas what I can do or what the cause is? I am desperate for some help. It is getting me very depressed.

It may be that your hair is breaking off at the ends, giving the appearance of no hair growth. May I suggest giving your hair a rest from the straightening all together and giving your hair regular conditioning treatments. Have the ends trimmed off as well as this will strengthen your hair.
