Simone asks:
Hi,

Iím extremely frustrated. Iím trying to achieve this ash blonde colour, but so far Iíve only gotten this orangy-copper colour, then I was advised to cancel out the brassiness of it by using an ash blonde on top of it, and now itís like this light brownish colour with a hint of copper. I hate it..

helpppppp!!!!

Please :(

Hi Simone

It sounds to me as if the hair isnít actually light enough, thatís why when toned with the ash it looks Brownish. My suggestion is that you either get it recoloured lighter or use a colour remover or perhaps even have highlights that way you can get to a yellow undertone then tone with a violet based toner to achieve a light cool blonde. ...More >

Good luck

Liam asks:
Hi basically Iím a 28year old male and I need some advice. My hair has always been short blonde but seems to be going darker in places as I get older. Some people have even referred to it as ginger in some lights. I am now thinking on having it coloured light brown or dark brown, however, many people advise on dying it orange or red first before attempting to dye it brown as being any type of blonde there is no pigment. Would it be possible to get clarification on this?

Hello Liam

Firstly unless your blonde hair isnít natural you donít need to worry about applying or dyeing your hair orange or any other colour first. ...More >

If you want to stay blonde but donít like the ginger in some lights you can control this by using a silver or violet shampoo and conditioner, this will even your hair colour all over but also neutralise the ginger tones.

If you actually want to go darker, remember if your hair is short you will have to colour it every time you have it cut, then just make sure you use dark ash blond or light ash brown this will prevent the ginger undertones (naturally present in blonde hair) from being more obvious. Hope this makes sense.

Paige asks:
I dyed my hair black about a 10 months ago and rested it 2 months, However, I want to dye it a medium blue within the next week or so, would I be able to do that or would I have to wait (baring in mind I donít mind if my hair gets damaged just as long as I get the colour outcome I want).

Firstly Iím not sure what colour the roots are of your hair and they are going to be pretty large if you havenít coloured your hair in 10 months. Secondly you wont make artificial hair colour lighter with colour only bleach or decolourant so in order to get a medium blue you will need to lift out the black colour in your hair to around an orange colour. This will then need to be toned with a blue toner to make sure your Medium blue desired end result is a good long lasting one. ...More >

Then your desired Blue is to be applied, if your roots are natural colour and a dark blond you should be able to apply the blue all over and get a pretty good result. Good luck but feel free to come back for a more accurate formulation by supplying your root colour.
