Hi Beth

Yes sure, My advice is...leave this to the professional hairdressers. ...More >

The reason for this is because there is so much that can go wrong.

Yes it will damage your hair however this can be treated with treatments in the salon and a regular haircut.

The other problems is, hair should not be coloured to a white more of a pale yellow and then a toner added, also sometimes you would need more than one application so by doing it at home you could end up very orange or yellow with just the one application and when doing the second application you need to be very aware of the scalp as it too can burn.

So please go see a stylist and go through your options.

Shamila I think you are trying to make your hair lighter or have tonal effects well unfortunately thatís very difficult on black hair but even more difficult if the hair is coloured black. You will need to go to a salon and have some pre lightening service. Pop into a local salon for a consultation as it can be achieved.

Paula Voytek asks:

Hi Paula Before you do anything drastic try using colour enhancing shampoo or conditioner as these are marvelous at add extra depth, tone and shine. Make sure you leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing, hopefully hubby will like and then when your next at the salon they can colour match. You should have a better result as you shouldnít need to be bleached. Just as an additional note a treatment masque on for 20 minutes with help make the hair more shiny and reflect light too. Good luck
