Melanie Woodcock asks:
I want to have hair extensions for my wedding day. Are the clip in ones suitable for being curled with GHD straighteners and how good will this look. Also do I colour the extensions or buy the exact coluor match for my hair?

If your hair extensions are real hair, then they can be curled with GHD styling irons. If you opt for synthetic hair, then you cannot use direct heat and would need to curl with Velcro rollers or steam rollers. I would not recommend colouring extensions and instead opt for shades that match your own hair. Some real hair can be coloured but this is only by the professionals."

Jayne asks:
I am naturally a dark brown-black colour. I have been colouring my hair red for a few years now, I last had it coloured about 6-7mths ago but also had high lights at the same time, can I dye my hair brunette now without causing any adverse reactions?

With any colouring I would always strongly advice visiting your local hair salon and speaking to a colourist for a consultation. With so many colours on your hair there may be a chance of patching where it does not all take and the old blonde highlights may make the hair lighter in areas. It may be an idea for your colourist to strip your hair colour so you can start from fresh. I would suggest you start to condition your hair with a deep conditioner a couple of times a week to get it at its optimum before you think about re-colouring.

It could be that the hair has oxidised since you have coloured it. Did you use a pH balancer after colouring the hair? Also you will find that when looking at a hair colour in a salon the salon lights have a blue hue which makes the blonde look nice. However a regular domestic light that you will have at home has an orange hue which makes the hair look brassy. May I suggest toning the hair will an ash blonde semi colour at a level 9 or above. Hope this helps
