Wendy asks:
My problem started when I used Nioxin shampoo/conditioner/ follicle booster. I used these products a little more than a month. Suddenly I had an allergic reaction my scalp was very sensitive, in addition to using these products; I also used their root lifter volumizer. After that application thatís when the reaction occurred. To calm my scalp, I used Dr. Miracles edges and nape balm which resulted in thinning. To counter all this, I used rosemary oil to try and stimulate hair growth. My derm prescribed clobetasol propionate. This calmed it down and my hair seemed to be doing fine because the shedding seemed to stop. Now, on some areas of my head I can see my scalp. My hair used to be very thick and long. When I shampoo my hair, my scalp still feels irritated and tight my dermatologist said that I had no follicle damage and in time my hair will grow back. I am depressed and scared that my hair will never grow back. Do you think my follicles are damaged and does an irritated scalp mean that my follicles have been damaged? I tried the jojoba oil but it did not help. Please help, totally stressed out!

Based on what your derm said I would say that your follicles are not damaged and getting stressed out will only make matters worse. What you need to do is make sure that you are eating a healthy balanced diet. Plenty of protein and omegas. A high dose of B Complex will also help. Make sure you get these from a good health food store. Do not purchase cheap drug store brands as these are not sufficient.

Try no to stress, aromatherapy help. Take warm baths and use some lavender oil or clary sage.

Casey asks:
How do I make super-thick hair look and feel thinner? Iíve been getting my hair thinned out with the thinning shears every two months or so, my hairdresser said thinning more than once every two months can damage my hair - but is there anything else I can do to make it thinner? I already straighten my hair almost every day.

Hi Casey - Have you tried a shampoo and conditioner to make your hair sleek? Thinning your hair more than once a month should not damage your hair as long as the hair is wet and the shears or razor are sharp. Maybe change your hairdresser and change your haircut to create less volume? Good Luck

I made a huge mistake using Pantene Shampoo and Conditioner. I had medium hair before, and after using Pantene my hair is so much thinner! I have lot a lot of hair. What can I do to fix it?

Donít worry, try using a shampoo and separate conditioner for fine or flyaway hair, also for thinning hair or a Volume Shampoo. And stay away from the bottle that causes your hair to go thin.
