Autumn is the Time to Go Red!

Jess Speechley, Creative Colour Director at Gina Conway Aveda Lifestyle Salons and Spas – A/W Colour

During this time, it is time to bring the colour back through the ends. Brunettes have a tendency in the summer months to leave their ends to be slightly lighter and take the edge off the darkness. In the winter it is a great time to go back to an all over colour (A great example of this colour is someone like Megan Fox or Kim Kardashian) Finishing off with a gloss to protect the hair and secure that shine is the best treat you can give to your hair.

In the winter months I always love to take blondes more golden with possible hints of strawberry blondes as it flatters most complexions. In the summer we see that most blondes want to go uber, platinum-blonde. Blondes dont necessarily need to go darker for autumn/winter but adding more golden tones to the hair give a softness to the hair and suit your winter and autumn tones of coppers, mustards and browns. Example of this would be Blake Lively.

Red Heads

Autumn is the time to go red.
It is a great colour that not only suits natural redheads, but people who are looking for a change too. I love taking my red head clients deeper in the winter, taking inspiration from Emma Stone and Julia Roberts. Depth to the colour can be very flattering as well as enhance the complexion.
