Colour Trend Predictions

Siobhan Jones, Colour Ambassador, Headmasters shares her colour trend predictions for 2014

Burnished Blush:

A gorgeous hue that compliments all skin tones and most importantly won't clash with summer brights like a lot of reds can. This colour concentrates on mixing ultra fine shimmers of light, vivid copper amongst deeper mahogany tones for a truly burnished multi-tonal colour, that shimmer in the sun. Those with vibrant copper or red hair should opt to tone down and soften their colour while brunettes should add richness to bring their colour back to life.

Chestnut tones with graduated roots:

I love this effervescent hue - it's low maintenance but still super rich. Combining natural roots that graduate to intense, chestnut tones throughout the length and ends gives a really gorgeous glow. We are finding a lot of models are trading in their usual blonde locks for this wearable rich chestnut hue. Use free hand techniques when creating this colour as it gives the best blend of tones for a truly natural finish.

Power Blonde:

This season blondes mean business and that means going global. This all over colour is kept bang up to date by adding gentle, translucent tones i.e. soft gold making the colour appear more natural and luminous instead of heavy and matt.

Nod to neutral:

This summer it's all about creating colour that has the perfect balance, we are so used to colouring and being able to pin point straight away the tone of the season red, gold, ash? But this season it's all about colouring hair so it's super glossy and natural. To do this, add neutral tones around the face and hairline to compliment with glistening ribbons of a soft, lighter tone through the lengths and ends.
