Top Date Night Hairstyle for Valentines

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, love is in the hair! Whether you're planning a romantic date night, a cosy night in or a wild night out with the girls, Valentine's day is the perfect excuse to try out a gorgeous new look!

But this year, hair stylist to the stars; Asgar Saboo has you covered, with his picks of the ultimate date night looks!

Vintage Curls

Vintage curls ooze glamour and sex appeal, making them the perfect style for a hot date night!

Top Tips: To get the most volume, whip your hair upside down as you blow dry! This will automatically give your hair a boost. Once dry, add root lifting spray to your roots for that extra oomph! Try this look on day old hair for maximum volume and staying power.

Insert hot rollers, working your way from the top of the head to the bottom. To create this retro inspired look, roll them towards your face. We recommend using rollers rather than a curling iron for this look, as while your hair sets you will have free hands to get on with your glam make up!

Leave the rollers in for at least half an hour before brushing them out with a fine comb. Spray generously with hair spray to set the curls in place.

To pull out all the stops, finish with bright red lipstick, thick mascara and statement jewellery.

Sleek Ponytail

A sleek ponytail is the perfect look to take you from day to night with ease and sophistication, making it perfect for any date!

Top Tips: The key with this look is to ensure you hair is completely silky and smooth. Make sure your hair is freshly washed and deep conditioned before you start.

Take a small amount of oil in your hands, argan or coconut will work best, and gently work this through your hair to add gloss. Avoid your roots as this could make your hair look greasy.Spray the underside of your hair with hairspray and pull back into a tight ponytail. Spritz with hairspray again and pull back any strays. Go low for a date night or pull it into a high ponytail for a girls' night out!

Secure with elastic and spritz lightly with hair spray to secure. Take out a small strand of hair from the ponytail and wrap it round the elastic to hide it.

This look is simple and understated, so be brave with dark eyes and a bold lip to ramp up the glamour!

Bouncy Blow Dry

There is no better feeling than walking out of the hairdressers with that perfectly glossy blow dry and this look is perfect for date night! You'll look glamorous, romantic and pretty without it looking like you tried too hard to impress your man!

This DIY blow dry is far more convenient, and cheaper, than trekking to the salon for a fresh do. With these simple steps you'll have that salon-fresh feeling in no time!

Top Tips:
For the perfect salon worthy blow dry, preparation is key! Towel dry your hair gently before adding volume enhancing mousse or gel to lock in your hair's natural moisture. Use mousse rather than salt spray to create the biggest, bounciest waves possible!

Divide your hair into small horizontal sections using clips to make the routine more manageable and speed up the drying process. Wrap your hair up in a firm, paddle brush and apply heat as you pull the brush through your hair. The thicker your hair, the larger the brush you should use.

Continue until the first layer is dry, unclip the next section and repeat!

If you want your perfect blowout to last for a few days after Valentines, make the most of dry shampoo. If your roots become greasy, spray them with a touch of dry shampoo and brush it through your hair. Remember to take shorter, cooler shows as the steam will add unwanted frizz to your silky locks!
