Hair: Abena Richardson Black Beauty / WAHL Southern Sytlist of the Year 2008
The award winning collection was inspired by the mysterious beauty that African women possess. African women are strong, diverse and unique. I wanted pieces of the wonderful varied culture that is so often seen as a negative to be represented in its true form. Simply beautiful.
Hair is given an offside parting and cornrowed from the parting and around the hairline with pieces of hair left out on one side. This hair is looped and pinned into place underneath the cornrow. The remaining hair is swept over to one side and fastened into a ponytail. The ponytail is extended with more hair and pinned into a chignon with the loose hair from the chignon looped specifically to fall just beneath it.
