When
a Vision Becomes a Mission
Charlie Taylor is one of the UK's
foremost hairdressers and a lifetime
member of the British Hairdressing
Hall of Fame. Scottish Hairdresser
of the Year three times, Charlie
trained as a stylist in Scotland
before moving to London in 1984,
where she joined fellow top British
Hairdresser, Trevor Sorbie.
In 1987 Charlie returned to her
Scottish roots to launch her own
salon chain from the city of Perth.
Working in partnership with her
husband, Alastair Taylor, the company
has grown over 20 years, driven
by Charlie & Alastairs keen sense
of business awareness specifically
in the hair and beauty industries.
The salons are amongst Scotland's
busiest, noted nationally and internationally
for their high quality input to
the Hair and Beauty industries.
This aspect of the business now
boasts four salons in Dundee, Bridge
of Allan, Perth and St Andrews with
further expansion imminent.
Alongside the growth of the salon
business, Charlie has continued
to develop her international career
as a stylist and educator and the
Charlie Taylor Artistic Team are
frequent travelers, educating and
entertaining both trade and consumer
audiences across the globe.
Charlies impressive media profile
sees her frequently appearing in
print, on television and on radio,
offering hair and beauty advice.
In 2006, Charlie was featured in
a national advertising campaign
for haircare brand TREsemme.

The
four salons within the group
are each unique in character
and consistent in their quality
of client care.
Our Perth salon, the first in
the group, is one of the busiest
salons in Scotland, and is a
bustling oasis for calm and
relaxation boasting shiatsu
massage chairs and luxury teas
and coffees to relax our clients,
and an exclusive health and
beauty area with three decadent
therapy rooms. The Perth salon
is multi-award winning and currently
the only salon in Scotland to
hold Guinot Crown Status. Celebrity
visitors to the salon include
Dame Lesley Garrett.
Our Dundee salon is vibrant,
modern and spacious. Clients
can take advantage of the space
to let their minds relax or,
for those who need a little
more help, take advantage of
our two luxury therapy rooms
to really unwind. Set in a listed
building, Dundee is the hub
for most of the company’s in
house training and development.
As a result clients in the Dundee
salon are often treated to a
sneaky first look at the season’s
key styles.
Set in (arguably) the golfing
capital of Scotland, our St
Andrews salon is a magnet for
the celebrity visitors to the
town. Offering the full range
of Charlie Taylor hairdressing
services and products, and right
in the heart of the historic
town, the salon has played host
to a myriad of celebs including
Prince William, Tiger Woods,
Edith Bowman and Radio 1’s Colin
Murray.
The latest addition to our salon
group, and by no means last,
the Bridge of Allan salon opened
in December 2006 and has already
made a mark for itself in the
local community. Modern and
comfortable, clients of the
Bridge of Allan salon have already
found themselves sitting next
to Scotland International player
Stephen Pressley and BBC presenter
Neil Oliver.
