MARK SCOTT HAIR IS ONE OF THE REGION'S MOST PROGRESSIVE HAIRDRESSING GROUPS WITH FOUR SALONS IN DERBYSHIRE
Mark Scott is the creative drive behind the business. He has been a hairdresser since the early 1980's and launched his first salon, on St Peter's Churchyard in Derby in 1986. Mark's keen eye for detail, his respect for his dedicated staff, and his desire to be the best in the business all underpin the company's success.
Mark is supported in the business by his wife Kate who looks after the crucial financial management of the business, enabling Mark to focus on the creative side.
Mark is very much a family man; son James and daughter Amiee are both working in the business and Mark's ultimate ambition is to see the salons flourish under their control, but that won't be for a fair few years yet!
Mark Scott opened his first salon in Derby in June 1986(St. Peter's Churchyard). This was followed in 1996 by a second salon in Derby's Sadler Gate. It's Belper salon opened in July 2000 followed by another Derby salon on The Spot in February 2007. In January 2008 Mark opened The Mark Scott Academy on Pride Park.
Each salon has a recognised look about it. Individual touches give each location its own style creating a unique atmosphere.
Mark Scott has run a Training Centre formore than sixteen years. Currently Mark and David are responsible for developing the team. Mark's passion for training means that the whole team are driven to achieve their full potential. As Mark put it, "Hairdressing should never be just a job. For our team it is career with a really great future."

High profile hairdressers, including Charles Worthington and Lee Stafford have run seminars at the Mark Scott Training Centre. The training is on-going and the team are currently working with the London based TIGI Academy. This has enabled them to benefit from creative courses with top professionals Anthony Mascola and Nick Irwin.
