UKHairdressers. Com is holding a free competition, aimed at budding artists and graphic designers, to create a brand new logo for use on its products, literature and website.

The prize consists of £500 of hair and beauty products of your choice that are available in our store.
Here is the perfect opportunity to spoil yourself, or get those Christmas presents early.

UKHairdressers require two designs; one using the acronym ‘UKH’ and one using ‘UKHairdressers.com’. Each participant must have one of each logo submitted to be in with a chance of winning. There are no restrictions here, let your creative energy shine through.

Every month 1.2 million unique global users visit UKHairdressers.com for hair & beauty tips and advice. This is your chance of getting every one of them to see your work!

Rules and Submission Requirements

1. Form of the competition

Free open design competition.

2. Conditions of participation

The competition is open to all. We look forward with interest to receiving all proposals.
Entries must be the original work of the submitter and be free of any copyright or other intellectual property claims.


3. Object of the competition

The creation of a logo is to serve as the emblem of UKHairdressers.com. The new logo is intended to replace the one currently in use. The successful logo will also have wide exposure, featuring in all of UKHairdressers material including, but not limited to; the UKHairdressers web site, products, and business literature.


4. Number of designs, design and presentation data

Each participant is entitled to submit a maximum of five designs but to be considered for this competition you have submit to at least one. (No typed suggestions of what it should look like). Designs shall be submitted in their final form, as finished works.

5. Submission format

All designs shall be submitted for judging in electronic form as:
* JPEG.
* In colour (RGB).

6. Submission deadline

The designs must reach UKHairdressers.com by
October 15th 2007.
Any design reaching the UKHairdressers.com Ltd after the date mentioned will not be taken into consideration by the jury. The UKHairdressers.com Ltd disclaims any liability for designs submitted.

7. Jury
The judgment leading to the final selection of designs shall be undertaken by the Board of Directors of UKHairdressers.com Ltd, and will occur in two stages.

First Stage – Pre-selection
A technical and artistic pre-selection group has been set up by UKHairdressers.com Ltd and entrusted with recommending to the second stage between 5 and 10 of the designs submitted that meet the
prescribed criteria.

Second stage - Final selection
The final selection of the winner shall be judged by the UKHairdressers.com directors via a direct vote.

8. Copyright, right of use

Upon completion of the competition, UKHairdressers.com acquires ownership of the winning logo by assignment of
copyright and the winning designer will disclaim any trademarks and without limitation all other rights related to the design.
All the other designs submitted shall remain the intellectual property of their creators, unless otherwise agreed by negotiation between the parties.
Due credit will be given to the winning designer on the UKHairdressers web site.

9. Exploitation of the competition results for public relations purposes

By submitting their designs, the participants authorise UKHairdressers.com Ltd to use those designs for public
relations purposes, for instance by publishing the competition results in broadcasts and in written or electronic media
or both - with a mention of the creators’ names - and to display or publish all or some of the designs submitted
anywhere in the world.

10. Return of designs

Participants are advised to retain personal records of their designs, as neither the designs submitted nor the
electronic media will be returned to them.

11. Validity of the Rules

By participating in the competition, the participants unreservedly accept these rules.
