names in British Hairdressing. He trained initially in Manchester
and then moved to London when he was 21 to further his training
In just a few years, Steven was promoted to the Art Team and it
was following this that his profile grew internationally. In demand
from leading photographers, his work has featured on the pages
of directional magazines such as Vogue, Tatler, Harpers & Queen
and Elle. He continued to work on the collections in London,
York, Milan and Paris and also was working on hair shows and seminars
throughout the world. Opening his salon in Mount Street has enabled
Steven to realise his dream of creating a space for that creativity.

When did you first realise you wanted to become a hair stylist
and where did you start?
I first realised when I saw my brother hairdressing two years
earlier and then when I became 16 I started in a barbers shop
in Oldham called Giacomo and Piero.
Q: What made you move to London?

Q: What is the strangest brief/ location you've had to work with?
Quite a few but the strangest location must be Ayres Rock where we were
shooting on location for English Elle Magazine I was stood on a rock
doing the models hair in 118 Degrees heat, my experience of that heat
with me beating away the flies, me trying to keep the hair looking like
hair without it collapsing in the heat.

Style Gallery - are you surprised at how many times they have
Gob smacked! My web site visitors has increased by 150% in the
last 10 weeks that it had been listed on the ukhairdressers site,
and I have also benefitted from people asking for jobs, seminars,
videos and most of all new customers. It's like having a second
website on television. It makes the 199 I paid for my subscription
quite insignificant. In June I was No 3 with one of my styles
and in July it jumped to number 2 it feels like I'm an X Factor
finalist ... come on I need your votes!!
