Hair Styles to keep them guessing about your age
Our style gallery is full of hair styles to help you choose the
one that's right for your face shape and hair type. The images we
receive are mainly from salon collections and usually feature young
models who don't mind changing their hair at the drop of a hat.
So it can be difficult trying to imagine if the new hairstyle you
want will actually be flattering for a woman in her forties or fifties.
Don't despair, the secret is to use the celebrities' stylists and
take advantage of the skilfully created hair styles, chosen for
glamorous film stars and TV personalities.
So just look at the style you want to achieve, check out the face
shape, make your selection and then go and talk to your salon about
making it happen! There's nothing more ageing than the wrong hair
style, it's all about striking the right balance.
One of our forty-something customers sent her photo in, desperate
for some ideas she had grown her hair to chin level, all the same
length. Despite her desire to look like Katie Holmes, it just wasn't
doing it for her. Hidden under the thick curtain of hair she had
a small face with great bone structure and neat features. The final
straw came when she put a striped top on and her husband said she
looked like a Bay City Roller!
We recommended a dramatic short cut, with lots of layers going up
the back, lifting her hair away from her face, rediscovering the
face lost underneath. The results were even better than we imagined!
The layers made her style light and edgy, taking years off her age.
Now she feels great and her husband's arranging candle-lit meals
and taking her to America for the holiday of a lifetime. It just
goes to show that when your hair is right, everything else seems
to fall into place.
Here are some Celebrity Styles to show how you can adapt those A-Lister
looks to work the magic for your hair.

Long hair works best, if it is well cut and in good condition. It can
be worn all one length or layered and styled in up do's for that special
occasion. The recent popularity of hair extensions has shown how sought

always the best option to maintain the illusion of youth - so you might
want to consider a positive move towards a colour that suits your skin
tone. Even celebrities sometimes struggle to get away with grey hair;
at best it gives your age away and at worst, it make you look older
than you really are!
