THE Duchess of Cambridge is continually in all the glossy magazines in our salon. Guaranteed every week she is splashed all over the front pages – everyone is wondering what exquisite designer is lucky enough to have her pose as their latest model.
However, I’m always drawn to what’s above the duchess’s shoulders – her gorgeous hair!She’s already stamped her look for sure but I’ve started to get a bit tired of her faithful, long, flowing shiny locks topping off every fabulous outfit.
She has great hair – this we know – but it’s the kind of hair that can be more than that. She can use it to transform a safe, yet subtle dress or suit and I was over the moon to see recently that she’d had it pinned up.Swathed in a floor-sweeping Jenny Packham gown, she looked every inch the elegant princess but it wasn’t the crystals or emerald green colours that got me excited – not even the Jimmy Choos – it was her hair.
It’s extremely easy when you’re Royal Family elite to be sucked into wearing quite classic and sometimes borderline old fashioned hairstyles. I’m not talking vintage old fashioned – but Camilla Parker-Bowles old fashioned. The kind we want to forget!
Kate’s style is fresh, modern yet still remains elegant. I love the intricate plait leading into a bun. It’s my new favourite style for the summer and is much more flattering than her signature bouncy waves and side parting.
