Style, Look And Inspiration Feature - Quotes Attributed To Steve Rowbottom, Director

Describe the style, look and inspiration of this style:
This style is very androgynous. We wanted to create a look that had a masculine shape but with a real femininity. This beautiful style demands attention as well as enhancing the facial features.

Does it have dress down/dress up options?
Absolutely. It can be worn very soft and natural during the day or dressed into a quiff, slicked back or simply blow dried to create a striking finish.

Which hair types does it work for?
We would recommend this style to clients with normal to fine hair, as thick hair tends to be too heavy to hold the style. Very soft hairlines will also benefit from this style, as it allows you to create your own movement.

Is this high or low maintenance?
This look is very low maintenance and allows you to wash and go. The only upkeep is the colour, which needs to be done every few weeks, as it will fade due to the pure technique and delicate application.

What face shapes best suit this style?
This look has a masculine edge so it needs to be kept soft at the same time. Those with strong cheekbones and with faces not too long or round will really suit this style.

Any important blow drying/styling tips?
Use the correct products, nothing too heavy as less is more with looks like this. Brush everything in the opposite direction to get the desired result and finish with a little styling crème.

Best products for the style and colour?
• L’Oreal Techniart Pli at the roots to give a gentle lift.
• Kerastase Ciment Thermique on the mid lengths and ends to protect the hair from heat and breakage.
• Finish with a drop of L’Oreal Mythic Oil to smooth the surface.

How to style:
1. After shampooing, towel dry hair and spray L’Oreal Techniart Pli on the roots.
2. Apply Kerastase Ciment Thermique on the mid length and ends of the hair.
3. Using a round brush, keep the airflow facing down and wrap the hair around the brush to create volume.
4. Finish with a drop of L’Oreal Mythic Oil to smooth the surface.
