Luluís hair is always fabulous

by HANNAH MLATEM @ Celebrity Hairstyles

Luluís hair is always fabulous. She swears by a great cut that creates fullness and volume and she knows what products work for her and even has her own hair care range, Operation: Glam hair. She recommends knowing more about your face shape and getting a cut that really flatters it, rather than worrying about the length and to avoid extreme colour, which can be very ageing and unflattering, sticking with natural tones and more to your natural colour.

1. Bit of info regarding the style and the look:
This is a fantastic style for all ages but particularly women who are in their 30s and upwards. It lets you play with having a modern shape while not straying too far from a classic bob style.

2. Does it have dress down/dress up options?
The shape and style is completely versatile. Even for those who arenít budding stylists! You can prep with mousse, put your head upside down and blast dry working some wax in afterwards for a casual day look and take the night by using your straighteners or tongs to add a loose curl. And of course hair accessories will glam it up.

3. Which hair types does it work for? ie fine/thick, etc
Personally I think it works well with both if cut correctly. Your stylist will know how to achieve texture and shape. If your hair is thick you need texture and I like to use a cut throat razor to achieve the "feathery" look. If youíve got fine hair you need solid contours to give your hair the appearance of looking thicker. Itís all about illusion.

4. High or low maintenance?
You do need it regularly cut when in this style to maintain the shape so Iíd say at least every four or five weeks is a must. Or you can begin to look a big too shaggy.

5. What face shapes best suit this style?
Itís great for longer face shapes because it adds width which flatters. However, it suits rounder faces too if there isnít a fringe as it can soften and show off cheekbones.

6. Any important blow dry/styling tips?
Itís all about volume and texture! Use the right products and donít overload your hair. Definitely prepare with a mousse, brush through and blast the roots. If you can, top your head upside down and get maximum volume.

7. Best products for the style and colour?
Iíd use a medium hold mousse and sea salt spray before blow drying. If your hair is fine Ė I would suggest a light serum. If your hair is thicker you can use a nice putty or wax to really show off the texture. Finish the style with a spritz of gel spray. A good tip is to spray your hands and work your fingertips through to finish.
