Its official! It's boot weather.
The only consolation to this wet, windy
weather is that I can bring out the Ugg
boots and add to my collection.
always loved boots of any description
but the furry, fluffy kind, are my favourite.
They're soooo comfortable and easy to
wear and for someone with feet as cold
as mine they're absolutely fab. I've added
chocolate brown pair and a shortie grey
pair this year and I know I'm going to
live in them again like I did last winter.
I don't stick to one brand actually, I
love all the different styles from different
brands Emu's Skechers even M & S own brand
- I don't mind, I just love all the styles.
I have with buttons, without buttons,
with embroidery patterns, with dangly
beads - there is so much variety out there.
It's funny as I'm not really a 'shoe'
girl, I know that's unusual but I go more
for comfort than glamour in shoes. But
when it comes to boots I really can't
get enough. In fact my slippers are the
fluffy-boot variety too and I wear them
all year round in bright pink. I know
I've said it before but I really do come
to life with winter fashion.
love sunny days as much as the next person
but when it comes to fashion I'm always
far more excited when the cooler weather
comes. It allows me to indulge my real
fashion-passions, coats, jackets, scarves,
hats and gloves. And I really love accessorizing
winter clothing with gorgeous accessories.
a real brooch fan and wear them on everything.
Not all at once of course, but I love
to pin a great brooch onto a scarf or
hat even a fabric handbag. I love pinning
little handmade knitted flower brooches
to plain knitwear.
I also like to wear my jewellery outside
my coat if appropriate. Stretch bracelets
look great on the outer cuff of a plain
winter coat and if you're wearing a rever
collared jacket, try wearing your longer,
chunkier necklaces on the outside.
That plain black wool coat really will
be transformed by a fabulous sparkly brooch.
Or go for the really cutting edge trend
of black coat and boots worn with bright
red scarf, handbag and lipstick for a
real city-chic look. Scarves and brooches
also make terrific Christmas gifts as
size isn't an issue and they won't break
of Christmas, I really must get a move
on I'm really late this year as I've had
a really busy year somehow so I haven't
even made a list yet let alone purchased
anything! I'm definitely internet shopping
again this year, it's so much easier and
less stressful but I really want to look
at some of the smaller, handmade cottage
industry type gifts this year.
bought some fantastic things at little
craft fairs and tiny little shops on my
travels this year and I'd really like
to buy this type of gift for my friends
A lot of my friends are quite 'arty' and
really appreciate personal, handmade items
so I must set aside a night to trawl the
internet. Only problem is, I love things
like that too so I can see it will be
one for me, one for you in my basket this
Or maybe I could draw up my own wish list
whilst I'm looking and pin it in large
letters next to the computer for others
to get clues.
If time allows I really want to get out
to some of the great Christmas markets
that pop up all over the country, not
only for shopping but they really do get
you in the mood for all the festivities
that are coming up.
