& tips from your side of the counter........
If the smell
of the night before is lingering in your locks and you do not
have time for a quick wash, check out one of the new hair mists
- they neutralise unpleasant odours leaving the hair smelling
gorgeous. Try Hugo Boss 'Hugo Woman' £16, or Thierry Muglers Angel
Celestial £17, both available from Boots. If you need something
more affordable, a top hair magazine recently tested the following:-
- THE
BODY SHOP FRESHEN UP HAIR FRESHNER - £4.00
Just
a quick squirt gives a powerful blast imparting a sweet, fruity
scent that overcomes odours such as cigarette smoke etc. Not
a subtle smell but very effective.

- ANDREW
COLLINGE HEAVEN SCENT
- £5.50
A watery,
floral blend in a pretty bottle. Makes hair in need of a wash
smell like its just had one.

- CHARLES
WORTHINGTON DREAM HAIR HEAD-IN-THE CLOUDS - £6.95
A
very long name for a very small bottle! But only needs to be
used sparingly. A floral, yet spicy, sexy scent will cover all
but the strongest odours.

- L'OREAL
INNE AROMATIQUE MIST
- £7.70
A
little bit floral, a little bit fruity. Beats all the competition.
Performed well after a night out in a smokey pub followed by
a curry!

HOW
TO
PREVENT DANDRUFF
Nearly 13
million people in the UK alone suffer with dandruff. Serious dandruff
is thought to be caused by a fungal yeast, Pityrosporum ovale
and should be treated with a specialist shampoo. Something like
Vosene Anti-Dandruff contains Climbazole to combat bacteria and
fungi on the scalp, or Nizoral with ketoconazole, another anti-fungal
ingredient.
Nutritionists
believe that dandruff can also be caused by eating a diet high
in fatty, sugary goods with a lack of vitamins and minerals. Try
to eat a more healthy diet and take the recommended dose of zinc
supplement which can help.
A dry scalp
is often mistaken for dandruff but is usually caused by product
build-up especially hairspray. Always rinse hair thoroughly in
lukewarm water and try a build-up remover occasionally, such as
Vosene's Build-Up Remover, around £1.99.
