Dannii Minogue

Since Danni ditched the extensions her bob has proven to be very versatile. This week, she entered the studio with a casual wavy look. On stage a simple technique transformed her beautiful bob:

• It's best to wash your hair 24 hours before doing this style, whether your hair is thick or fine.

• Apply a small amount of gel spray (e.g. Alterna Life Volumising Spray Gel) and brush through. If your bob is particularly wavy or frizzy, quickly smooth it over with straighteners.

• Begin from the front of your hair line and, taking one inch sections, lightly back comb from behind.

• It's better to backcomb with a small rounded brush for this style, rather than a comb.

• Repeat the back-combing until you get the the crown - I know it looks scary - and perfect for Halloween - but it's worth the end result!

• Now spray each section with firm hairspray (e.g. Neal and Wolf Fix Hold & Shine Spray) and, starting from the crown, lightly brush with a smooth bristle pad.

• It's easy for your head to be pulled back when you're doing this but resist and keep your head nice and firm.

• You'll see the volume begin to take shape as you work your way forward. (Here's a tip - start clipping some of the sections together to keep it in place half way through)

• Once you've reached the front, spray again and smooth over one more time.

• Secure the back with kirby grips (preferably the same tone as your hair). You can leave tendrils around the front and sides or - like Danni - keep it sleek.
